BWFS are pleased to offer all students that have 4+ GCSEs including Maths and English at A*-B (Level 5 or above) the opportunity to study a major and a minor BTEC qualification.
This will enable you to study BTECs in two different areas, which is similar to the way you can choose multiple A-Levels in different subjects.
The major course will be your main full time course of studies which will take up the majority of your timetable. The minor course will be a smaller qualification which will take up an additional 3.5 hours per week of your timetable
Example course combination
Major: BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport Performance and Excellence (Equivalent to 3 A-levels)
Minor: BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Public Services (Equivalent to 1 A-level)
The minor course you choose will be studied over 2 years which means that your work load will remain manageable.
The dual award programme is a unique offer at BWFS which is ideal for students who have multiple interests and would like to study a wider range of topics across two different subject areas.
The dual award BTEC will give students the equivalent of 4 A-levels at the end of their course.
