Health and Social Care Level 2 Diploma

This course will develop your skills and knowledge that is required to work with group of people such as the young or elderly who require extra help or support. This is an ideal course for people who want to pursue a career in the caring profession and is also an ideal basis for students to gain underpinning knowledge which will then enhance their education opportunity to progressing onto the next level. The course consists of a number written assignments for different modules. There are different units and module that you will study, some are mandatory, such as:

  • Communication in Health and Social Care
  • Individual Rights in Health and Social Care
  • Individual needs in Health and Social Care
  • Ensuring Safe environments in Health and Social Care

You will also learn how to plan and deliver presentations, be involved in group and peer tasks as well as individual working. You will have access to fictional and real life case studies from the sector that you will review. You will be expected to perform in all learning activities both inside and outside the classroom environment. If you want to start a rewarding carer in the Health and Social care sector, then this could be the course for you.

Entry Requirements
BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care
Aged 16 to 18
4 GCSE’s at D or below including English and Maths (Level 3 or below in Maths and/or English)

Health and Social Care Level 3 Qualifications

This course will develop your skills and knowledge required to work with vulnerable people within the social care industry. You will develop your knowledge and understanding of the current legislation surrounding this area and will develop skills to put this into practice. You will be able to adapt your skills to enable you to work with different types of people and be able to promote anti-discriminatory practice. The course is broadly equivalent to between two and three A levels.

There are two different level 3 Diploma qualifications for Health and Social Care. These are:

BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care
Entry Requirements
Aged 16 to 18
4 GCSE’s at C or above including English or Maths (Level 4 or above in Maths and/or English)
Successful Progression from Level 2

BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care
