This course is designed and aimed at students whose aspirations and career path is within the Sport Industry. You will gain underpinning knowledge on various topics within the Sporting sector, and further develop your practical skills such as planning and carrying out fitness programme and Sport and exercise. To compliment your practical skills you will also learn the theory aspects, including how the body works and how exercise affects certain parts of the body, psychology for sports performance, sports nutrition, injuries in sport etc. This course will give you the foundations to go onto further study or gain employment in a related sector. This course is ideal for students who want to progress onto a level 3 qualification in a related subject.

The BTEC Nationals in Sport give students a solid foundation in the sector, enabling them to develop the essential skills required for gaining employment, securing career progression, or progressing to further qualifications at a higher level, university for example. They are work-related qualifications suitable for a wide range of students from different backgrounds and abilities. BTECs are built to accommodate the needs of employers where appropriate. They provide a practical, real-world approach to learning without foregoing any of the essential subject theory. They are recognised by schools, colleges, universities, employers and professional bodies across the UK and countries worldwide.

There are two different level 3 Diploma qualifications for sport. These are:

BTEC Level 3 Diploma:
Entry Requirements
Aged 16 to 18
4 GCSE’s at C or above including English or Maths (Level 4 or above in Maths and/or English)
Successful Progression from Level 2

Level 3 Extended Diploma:
Entry Requirements
Aged 16 to 18
4 GCSE’s at C or below including English and Maths (Level 4 or above in Maths and/or English)
Successful Progression from Level 2
